TONIGHT at Brick & Mortar there will be an array of psych rock bands performing who have been in the scene for a number of years. The Richmond Sluts, hailing from San Francisco’s Richmond district, have a sound that will get you dancing and grooving. Their song, “Take You Home,” has a 90’s punk feel that intertwines with a new psych garage rock revival kind of sound. The Asteroid No. 4 has a much more psychedelic rock tone, bringing less intensity, but more melodic and organic sounds. Their song, “Wishing Well” portrays a new psychedelic feel providing a more lyrical based compositional style. Lolita will be reuniting for one show after their break-up in 2006. Their song, “Heartbreak You,” brings together some guitar shredding with a psychedelic foundation. DJ Joel Gion, of Brian Jonestown Massacre, will also be bringing some tunes throughout the night.
