If some enterprising crate digger 20 years from now decides to produce a Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from Nashville compilation, they’d be remiss not to include a couple cuts from first-wave “New Nashville” boys Chrome Pony. This Southern-bred garage outfit will be making their way to the Knitting Factory this Wednesday, January 13, to join up with locals Sam Kogon and Strange Kids. The Deli Nashville

October 14th marked the release of Fly Golden Eagle's "Quartz," a 26-track odyssey inspired by 1973 art-flick "Holy Mountain." A month later, after an LA release and an epic fall tour they brought it home to Nashville. The Deli caught the last show in a weekend full of performances, a stacked lineup including Faux Ferocious, Chrome Pony, and Clear Plastic Masks put on at Meth Dad HQ Queen Art Collective. Are the next few posts just a thinly veiled plug for tomorrow night's Monster Bash 2014? Or is it just a coincidence that so many bands in the lineup have done some really cool stuff in the past few months? Tough to say; with 16 bands in the lineup, the numbers could go either way.

Chrome Pony released this video for "Burnout" in support of their EP "You Are the Pisces" released this August. Shot in Puerto Rico, it's mostly footage of what kids do when their f*cking around in a US territory: drinking, skateboarding, making upside-down faces, playing ridiculously spot-on, grungy odes to, well, being young and disaffected. Okay, so kids don't typically do the last bit, probably because they don't have a grasp on the finer points of the organ's role in garage rock.

The brothers Davis and crew are following up their appearance at Monster Bash on Friday night with a show at The Stone Fox on November 1st with Avi Buffalo and Adia Victoria. Check out "You Are the Pisces" on their Bandcamp. -Terra James-Jura

I’m having a moment with bright, bird-flipping punk rock, (possibly influenced by the Black Lips coming through town last week), so Chrome Pony is right up my alley. They’re lending local support to Sleeper Agent and The Weeks at Mercy Lounge Friday, 11/22, so hopefully the trio gets in front of some potential fans that need some new tunes to smash PBR bottles to. “Fun Girls” off their spring release, “Lazy Bones” is a standout. –Terra James-Jura
