Dirty Fences unveil video for "Judy Don't Go" + announce sophomore album "Full Tramp"

Although NYC if filled with bands playing garage rock, few local acts pull it off as competently as Dirty Fences, who's been refining this art since the beginning of this decade. The quartet just released a new video for "Judy (don't go)," in which they have fun with the oldest form of dressing up (by the way, it's amazing what a blonde wig can do, even to a man...). Look out for their sophomore album "Full Tramp," scheduled for a May 19 release. We are also digging the more psychedelic sounding opening track "Deep in Your Heart" (also streaming). You can check out two more preview songs here.

Dirty Fences plays west coast gigs after Irving Plaza show with Turbonegro

The next step in hot rod hard rock is here. Dirty Fences have combined the joys of smoke-filled biker bars into songs that last at most 2 and a half minutes. New EP 'Too Kind to Kross' is two jams designed especially for speed and abandon. This is the kind of sunset strip metal that celebrates the roots of hardcore, and the future of good old fashioned, dirty ass hard rock is here. Grab the new record here, and if you missed your show at Irvin Plaza last Saturday (opening for Turbonegro), check them out when they head back to NY for shows later this year. The band will play three gigs in the West coast in late May/early June. - Mike Levine (@Goldnugets)

We added this song to The Deli's playlist of Best Alt Rock songs by emerging NYC artists - check it out!

Tracy's CMJ 2012 day 1: Foxygen, Dirty Fences, Murals, Yung Life, Cultfever, Yellow Red Sparks, Natureboy + more

Frankly, this first day of CMJ went a billion times better than I expected. What did I expect? To get lost, for sure, having not been in the city that long. To miss half of the bands I'd listed on some meticulous schedule/map scribbled in my notebook the night before. To be drinking far too much. Ok, maybe that did happen. It's one thing I had to learn, I guess: do not say yes to every drink that is handed to you, because people will be handing you PLENTY of them - that's what happens when you run a Marathon right? - Read Tracy Mamoun's full CMJ report here - In the picture and streaming, Foxygen.

NYC punks Dirty Fences play Mercury on 06.24

Dirty Fences' rock'n'roll makes us want to get drunk and sweaty and nasty. Their brand new self-titled EP features five new tracks with that kind of straight forward crunch that can resurrect anybody's dormant trouble-making instincts. The band's choruses offer furious but catchy Clash-style chants that will get you screaming along - and they aren't even afraid to venture into occasional chill inducing guitar solos. They stopped by Cake Shop last Saturday to play with Threats, Fine Spoils, and Evil Child, but if you missed that opportunity don't fret, you can get your shirt wet on Sunday June 24 at Mercury, when they play with Grand Rapids. - Bob Raymonda
