Down and Outlaws

Down and Outlaws Support Reignwolf at the Independent TONIGHT

The San Francisco based rock band, Down and Outlaws will be performing tonight at the Independent in support of the Canadian powerhouse of a one man band, Reignwolf. This is going to be a night of heavy fuzzed out blues rock. Reignwolf has been compared to Jack White and loved to listen to Ray Charles and Howlin' Wolf when he was a kid. If you're into any of those artists you should check out Down and Outlaws early in the evening and stay late to get the full effect of the garage rock blues experience of Reignwolf.

The Love City Horror Show Takes Place Tomorrow Night - 10/23

So, we don't know much about Love City except that the promoters and organizers behind it are throwing a massive All Hollows Eve party tomorrow night. We at The Deli think you should attend because the line up is local and extensive and you'll probably see a lot of strange costumes. The community is coming together to put on a festival-esque event that is daring to be unique and encourages you to step out of the every day club scene we have all happily and fortunately grown accustomed to.

The Love City Horror Show will feature a number of great bands including:

Zodiac Death Valley
Hungry Skinny
Down Dirty Shake
Strange Hotel
Down and Outlaws
The Spiral Electric
The Deadbeatz

This is a pretty titillating local line up. In their own words - Eight bands. $2 draft beer. Costume not required, but strongly encouraged! *All Local Music // 18+$15 pre-sales available @ www.lovecitymusicfestival.com $20 at the door // $5 discount with costume

Have a good time at this party. We know you will! -je

This strong line up promises to be a show that will totally be worth your while. This is going to be a great California drenched rock and roll event, so head out and have a great time!

Midnight Sons Down and Outlaws and Sweetwater Black Play Bottom of the Hill TONIGHT

For those sorely lacking in the rock 'n' roll department, be sure to check out a show with the likes of Midnight Sons, Down and Outlaws and Sweetwater Black at tonight at Bottom of the Hill.

Sweetwater Black is a Bay Area based trio that reflects influences from bands like the Black Keys and Black Sabbath. Like Black Sabbath, the band has sludgy-sounding instrumentals backed by powerful vocals. Down and Outlaws is another San Francisco band that's bluesy, soulful, and above all - raw sounding. Last year the band came out with Backwards From The Dead, a solid and well-recorded release. And headlining is Midnight Sons, a band that does its best to make homespun rock 'n' roll with elements of '60s and '70s country music. The band is also expected to release an EP soon - check out a few choice tracks from the upcoming release below. -Erin Dage

Down and Outlaws The Electric Magpie Kirpatrick Thomas and Super 78 Play The Night Light in Oakland - 4/22

Tomorrow night, Kymberli's Music Box Presents and The Night Light in Oakland will be hosting a killer neo psych lineup. With performances by up and coming local musical outfits, Down and Outlaws with their heavy psych rock aesthetic and energetic live show and the melodious mod rock group, The Electric Magpie, whose reminiscent, 60s revivalist sound seems to be filtered directly through a time machine, this show is not to be missed.

Salt Lake City based sextet, Super 78 will also be playing the show. Their mashed-up qualities results the creation of a New Order-gone-Gang of Four musical vibe. The lo-fi group will share the bill with the one and only, Kirpatrick Thomas of Cowboy-badboys Spindrift. He'll be lending his killer baritone voice to his own solo acoustic psych-cowboy songs. It will be an amazing performance to experience.

Come out and celebrate Earth Day with a few beers and some killer music. - Kat Collins
