New Videos: Sperry Session - Marian Hill

The duo of Marian Hill, a.k.a. Jeremy Lloyd & Sam Gongol, have a new live Sperry Session over at Rolling Stone, which includes three songs from their album Sway - “One Time,” “Got It,” and “Whisky.” Lloyd’s tantalizing electronic beats create a cool jazz-infused, R&B foundation with that snappy percussion and casually magnetic bass melding with Gongol’s seductive, sultry vocals, morphing into a modern yet classic sound that in a live format injects Steve Davit’s sweet flurries of saxophone to provide an additional burst of energy and polish. Marian Hill is set to perform at the Made in America Festival in September, and also has a performance on October 1 scheduled at Union Transfer.

Weekend Warrior, April 24 - 26

After a crazy busy SXSW, Marian Hill have been finding themselves in high demand. Selling out shows on both coasts, the dynamic electro-soul team of Jeremy Lloyd and Sam Gongol returns home to another one at Boot & Saddle. However, it will be a short stop in Philly because they’ll be back on stage again tomorrow in LA for JazzReggae Fest. It’s good training wheels for a group that seems like they’ll be crisscrossing around the world at some point in the near future. Boot & Saddle, 1131 S. New Track: "Love Lockdown" (Kanye West Cover) - Marian Hill

The electronic duo of Jeremy Lloyd and Sam Gongol, a.k.a. Marian Hill, just took a swing at covering Kanye’s “Love Lockdown,” and made solid contact. Their take strips down the 808s & Heartbreak classic, slowing it down and allowing the emotionally shredding lyrics to shine in a sensually soulful manner. Marian Hill will be performing next in Philly on Friday, April 24 at Boot & Saddle. (Photo by Shervin Lainez)

New Track: "Wasted" - Marian Hill

We first learned about Marian Hill, the electro-soul/R&B duo of Jeremy Lloyd and Sam Gongol, when they became a nominee in our year end poll last year. Since then, they self-released the well-received EP Play, and is about to drop their second one entitled Sway on February 17, but this time, it will be available via Photo Finish/Republic Records. You can check out the latest single called "Wasted," from their forthcoming album below.
