Travis Hayes

Travis Hayes Releases New EP - Plays Doc's Lab - 3/28

Singer/songwriter, Travis Hayes is celebrating the release of his new three track album entitled, Love Songs. The album features the vocals of Emily Whitehurst (mainly known for her work in Tsunami Bomb and The Action Design) and paints a vivid picture of Hayes' personal experiences with love. Hayes is a refreshingly traditional folk artist who doesn't need to add too many frills to his music. He can capture an emotion or idea with his guitar and voice, but certainly takes the time to add simple elements that extenuate his overall artistic atmosphere. Love Songs features the cello and of course, Emily's lovely voice, making the collection of songs very beautiful and very to point.

Hayes makes some classy music. You can check him out live tomorrow night at Doc's Lab in San Francisco with Lauren O'Connell.

Congratulations to Travis Hayes and Peachelope for Winning The Deli Magazine Artist of the Month Poll

This does not happen often, but this month we have come across and occasion where we must congratulate TWO winners of The Deli Magazine San Francisco Artist of the Month Poll! The votes were so close that it has been decided that Peachelope and Travis Hayes should both be celebrated for obtaining the most votes!

Hayes is a hardworking singer/songwriter and avid supporter of the Bay Area music scene as he works as a promoter and booker for Neck of the Woods, a music venue in inner Richmond area of San Francisco. His smooth mix of indie rock and acoustic jams swoon us to no end.

Peachelope is an experimental avant indie duo whose sultry sounds and innovative live electro-acoustic performances are entrancing and always leaving audiences wanting more. These great local artists are both super deserving of this honor.  We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!

Travis Hayes Gears Up to Release New Album - Young Daze

San Francisco based indie singer/songwriter, Travis Hayes is gearing up to release his upcoming full length album, Young Daze, which is due for release on July 7th. Hayes pulls from 90s indie pop compositional styles, and mixes in thoughtful and creative touches to his emotionally honest songs.

His new album starts with a tightly wound and well produced instrumental intro that lasts the length of a pop track. Hayes takes small risks like this throughout the album, and does not stick to traditional pop structures even though his album has a very radio friendly sound. It's great that he can blend quintessential American music styles that nod to artists like Tom Petty and John Cougar Melloncamp, while creating his own spin on his ballads, bringing a fresh and modern sound that shines through the sonic presence of his musical influences.

Don't miss Travis Hayes' album release event at Bottom of the Hill on July 11th. -je
