One of the top bands in Toronto’s booming garage scene has been on a roll lately releasing a new album and touring all across Canada. Wine Lips are on fire and have just released a video for their latest single “Fly Swatter”. The video features the band rockin’ out at a wild basement party all while being very disappointed in their friends high jump skills. This track comes from their album “Stressor” which was released earlier this year. You can see Wine Lips perform a highly anticipated set this weekend at the Crystal Lake Festival and they’ll be back here in Toronto opening for Shonen Knife on September 25^th at Hard Luck Bar. – Kris Gies

Toronto based power trio Wine Lips are getting’ set to release their latest record “Stressor” on February 27^th and have just dropped their second single. “Electric Lady” is a rippin’ garage track with ear worm hooks making a deadly combo of rock n’ roll. The video features singer/guitarist Cam Hillborn gettin’ all wine lipped and stumblin’ around the city. It’s definitely a tune that’ll make you wanna drink… Wine Lips are heading out on tour of Canada and the States finishing off with their hometown Release Party at the Horseshoe Tavern on April 5^th with Pale Lips, Vypers and Fade Awaays. – Kris Gies

One of my favorite records of 2017 was from Toronto garage trio Wine Lips. The whole album is great front to back with wild guitar and a thumpin rhythm section that’ll keep ya groovin’. They nail the fuzzy garage tones while keepin’ the tunes catchy enough to appeal to more than just fuzzheads. In their video for “Opera Ghost” the band is competing against each other in a hot dog eating contest which looks a good time. Watch out…it gets messy. Celebrate guitarist/vocalist Cam’s birthday at the Bovine Sex Club on January 13^th where Wine Lips will be joined by Séance Sisters and Possum. – Kris Gies

Toronto's garage scene is booming right now and right in the thick of it is Vypers. A wild 4 piece psych garage band that look as dirty as they sound. They just opened up for Black Lips at the Horseshoe but if you missed that don't worry. Listen to their new single "Mr.Girl" right now and get lost in the duel guitar threat comin' at ya. The fight between fuzz and reverb is a real battle with Vypers. It may never end. Vypers will be joining The Tenenbaums and Wine Lips on June 10th at Cherry Colas. - Kris Gies

These guys were raised in a small town near Ottawa. So they had plenty of time to drink cheap beer and make dirty punk tunes. Gravel punk unique to the Tenenbaums. Hectic rock n roll that is still catchy...that makes for a great combo.  "We'll Always Have Milhouse" is available on their bandcamp page. So crank it before The Tenenbaums come to town.
