Stockholm Siesta Drops EP; Takes Hostage Of Our Hearts & Innocence

For some reason, I thought that good pop-punk was a genre that died in the 90’s, but Brampton based four piece band Stockholm Siesta has proven me very wrong. They released their EP, Fixin’ To Be A Lot Better, and it has quickly become one of my favourite records of this year. The opening track, Cannibals, brings to mind bands like Blink 182 with it’s sweet mellow melody over some pretty subtly dark lyrics. Dance of the Dead shows that the band isn’t averse to playing some really fast and upbeat tunes that just make you want to move to the beat. Ask Me How is the song that really stands out to me and kind of won me over on this EP. There’s just something about that smooth guitar melody, and I’m kind of a sucker for any song with a good build-up at the end. It doesn’t hurt that the vocals are one hundred percent spot on here. The boys appear to have something in the works in terms of new releases, so stay tuned.

Vaudevileins @ Quencher's

Vaudevileins (William Aldridge, Brennen Chouinard, Jeff Julian, and Andy Payne) are set to release their latest EP, Transmission, this week. This is the band's 3rd EP since forming back in 2010. As demonstrated on the EP's lead single "Chasing Time" below, the band plays a straightforward brand of rock music built for the backyard or the barroom.

You can help Vaudevileins celebrate the release of their new EP on December 4th at Quencher's.

Bike Thiefs Keep Punk Raw, And On Vinyl

Bike Thiefs are full out; they hit the ground running right from the start. The new EP, These Things Happen All The Time, is short, and not even close to being sweet. Punishing, blasting beats with soaring, grating vocals make for a mean punk explosion, drumming up flashbacks to your favorite sweaty deafening basement shows. The ones that really let you sleep when you were finally finished fighting your war against the rest of the crowd. “Redline” is the one moment where the band takes their collective foot off the pedal, and still put out a pounding and wailing scream-along, combining a great melody with absolute reckless fun-rock. Bike Thiefs now have physical copies, a la vinyl EP, for sale, and you should get them before they’re gone.

Rykarda Parasol In Letter Form and The Lion’s Den Play BOTH - 12/12

The San Francisco native singer-songwriter, Rykarda Parasol will be performing live at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on December 12th. The Bay Area based post punk outfit, In Letter Form will be supporting Parasol along with the rock ensemble, The Lion's Den.

This show will be Rykarda Parasol's North American Record release show! Rykarda Parasol is a San Francisco native now living in Paris, France and perhaps somewhat strangely, signed to Warner Music, Poland! For the past four years, Parasol has pursued a European music career, along with her band in Warsaw. Recently she finished a Central European tour, which included the Waves Festival in Vienna, Austria along with Poland and several Balkan countries. Parasol just released her fourth album, the Color of Destruction, which she self-produced here in San Francisco at Room 5 Recording. A conceptual album, which touches upon facing one’s fatal consequence and whether they should choose to burn or to drown.

Well, this is going to be an awesome show as Parasol's voice and style are throaty, exotic and dramatic in all the best ways! Make your way out to Bottom of the Hill on December 12th!
