THE SOLE PURSUIT - INDIE PROG ROCK

Here's some prog-indie rock from the 'burbs of Brampton. The Sole Pursuit kick off their album "Flower City After Dark" with an epic instrumental intro on the track "Ashes". The vocals would make it or break it at this point and singer Kyle Dawe comes in with enough intensity to keep this track rolling. Aggressive guitar and interesting arrangements are the key ingredients for the Soul Pursuit. Listen to the album on their bandcamp page. - Kris Gies

THINLY VEILED DOUBLE ENTENDRES - "CAPTAIN FISH HEART"

Long band name/short song. The Thinly Veiled Double Entendres have released a video for their single "Captain Fish Heart". This little ditty is a fun rockabilly tune that'll get your toes tappin'. I recommend findin' yourself a nice lady to hit the floor with and spin around until it's time for the next drink. TTVDE put on a great live show with a solid rhythm section, powerful vocals, slinky guitar licks and nice harmonies. They could play at the saloon or the rock bar...as long as they have some booze to fuel em up. Go see these ladies and fellas on Friday at Cherry Colas along with Flamingo Báy and Jim Dan Dee. - Kris Gies

THE TENENBAUMS - SMALL TOWN GRAVEL PUNK

These guys were raised in a small town near Ottawa. So they had plenty of time to drink cheap beer and make dirty punk tunes. Gravel punk unique to the Tenenbaums. Hectic rock n roll that is still catchy...that makes for a great combo.  "We'll Always Have Milhouse" is available on their bandcamp page. So crank it before The Tenenbaums come to town. Make some noise for the Tenenbaums at Cherry Cola's on June 10th along with Wine Lips. - Kris Gies

OLD JAMES - REAL ROCK N' ROLL

Don't worry everybody...rock n roll is alive and well. Thanks to Old James. This power trio truly brings back the deadly rock n roll riffage of the 70's. The opening track from their album "Speaks Volumes" absolutely sets the tone for what you're about to experience. "Don't Put It On Me" immediately hits you with face melting electric guitar with a Bruce Dickinson-esque scream and away we go. This tune will get you fired up for the weekend...which is all you really need in life. - Kris Gies
